orking for SME’s and unlike most sales staff his development role was to build his customer base from scratch. Patrick had to find new customers and to remain on target. He needed a system to help record and manage his growing list of contacts and keep him organised.
In the late 1980’s he came across contact management software, changing how he did business. Working with what has become CRM, Patrick customised basic company systems to better suit the industry he was involved in.
Company directors soon took notice of his special CRM skill and got him involved in CRM training from Director level to sales staff and office personnel. He also produced custom training material for the individual businesses.

atrick worked in Ireland and the UK, primarily in the Business 2 Business arena. Designing and selling security systems for over 12 years and previously audio visual meeting room installations and video conferencing solutions. Dealing with a wide range of customers and prospects having different job functions, into vertical markets from finance to education, government to manufacturing and pretty much every organisation in between.
Over the years Director, Sales, Administration, Operations and Finance Managers as well as countless sales reps have asked for and taken his advice on CRM systems prompting him to set up Smarter Business.
